You can realize how fun it is that on his legendary Carter series he was rapping his heart out over ave Maria and lin Manuel Miranda production and singing Weezer after making a sports rap anthem with bono from u2
It's a fun interesting experience
not really a fun experience when your favourite rapper, from whom you've enjoyed the previous Carter instalment, drops a new one you don't like.
I do think his performance on Maria is great though

Tbh it met my expectations because I feel like it makes sense for where Lil Wayne is at in his career. He seems disconnected from what would lead to the standards people have for new music. I don't think he has anything to prove. I think he just wants to do quirky stuff and rap well. I think it's cool and this album sounded really fun to make for him.
