In rap, if you don't die or get shot to death, you'll eventually live long enough to be the villain.
Eminem even rapped about that on Zeus. It happened with him. It happened with Wayne. Kanye basically voluntarily did that to himself lol. It happened with Jay. And it's happening to Drake and J Cole right now.
So, far Kendrick is beloved and praised by the masses. But who's to say it won't happen to him too?
Let Kendrick drop one dud in the near future and niggas will s*** on him and act like they never f***ed with him either.
Dying in your prime as a rapper is the greatest stimulus package of all time.
Some people think album wayne is better than mixtape wayne. Would you agree?
I would say it's downhill after Tha Carter 3.

Yea true
People don’t like Jay anymore because of his character/public image but if we only talk about his artistry then his last solo album 4:44 was very well received (one of my fav hov albums too) and it’s probably the best way to finish your career

J Cole is still getting love/praise for his raps/music. He just did some corny ass s***.
And people did s*** on Kendrick when he dropped Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. No idea why cause it's a good ass album. But you know people got s*** taste.
Btw: I don't f*** with C6 either.
But the revisionist history now happening is insane.
Any reason why Wayne gotta track named Gonorrhea? Anybody ever figure that out?
you joking right?
mfs be acting so dumb on here I cant tell the difference sometimes

Ion rly think it happened with Jay or Wayne they r still loved lol. Cole and Drake dealing with the same criticisms they always had. Wayne’s issues r the same he had right after rebirth

We know why lol and people say that beef was a net positive

I mean is it really revisionist history? Without mentioning mixtapes since we're talking albums of original work...what are the albums from Wayne that people consistently talk about and tout as his best? It's normally just Tha Carter series and not much else lol
Sure the true Wayne and Hot Boys fans are gonna know about Tha Block Is Hot, Lights Out, and 500 Degreez. But I highly doubt the majority of people are gonna prop those up when talking about rapper album discographies as mandatory listening. They're fine albums. But I think it's fair to say those albums are to Wayne what Infinite was to Eminem.
I love Wayne but honestly there’s never been another artist that gets coddled and given the pass as much as he does
It’s getting kinda goofy
I dont even like his music but i love no ceilings and carter 2 despite honestly expecting to hate it on first listen. To me things like that prove hes undeniably great
Also the guy himself is just a great human being, one of the few rappers id be friends with
Is it revisionism...or is it just honesty?
Like y'all try and tell me this ain't facts
Didn't even include that FWA bullshit cause everybody forgot about that mess

well nobody has ever had the impact wayne has had on the genre so he deserves grace imo.
Thread reads like something SAS or Kendrick Perkins would say about random player X.
