    Hi Roller

young thug was blowing kisses to his homies while dropping Danny Glover.
we just rolled with it cuz the music was undeniable.

i need the next openly gay dude to do that

When “Stoner” was receiving regular radio plays, a classmate of mine from the inner city said, “he’s gay, but this s*** hard” and I’ve thought that succinctly outlined early Thug’s aura ever since. That whole is-he-isn’t-he s*** was an afterthought because, like you said, the product was undeniable.

Literally no one cares that frank and Tyler are gay/bi

They are the most "non openly" gay artists in the field, and that's a big difference to other gay artists lol.

Makonnen was kicked off Drake team for coming out lol

  • Sep 29, 2021

I’m rooting for the guy but can’t have it both ways. He should humble himself a little bit considering the amount of success he has

not only that Tyler was like 4 albums in with a solidified fanbase when he came out lol

LNX was nowhere near as established as T lol

Lil Nas X and Post Malone is in the same category genre wise but I would argue that Post is slightly more hip hop oriented

Also hip hop doesnt respect him cause he doesnt make hip hop

  • Sep 29, 2021

He's a hip-hop artist in the vaguest of senses. He doesn't actually spit bars. He's a pop artist at heart and clearly thats where his music is at as well. He isnt making music that hard overlaps with hip-hop 1 for 1 so why would he expect respect there? If he's talking about being a gay man making music about his lifestyle and that he is tangentially a hip-hop artist and that the hip-hop community doesnt accept that then thats not really a new convo but its fair at a min. Many hip-hop artists and their music is openly homophobic (at least previously its died down significantly). But he's the wrong mouthpiece for this. As said itt, he is only in this for the money and fame, he isn't trying to make his music super personal because he loves hip-hop or even do anything traditionally hip hop with his songs. I don't think he's the right person to champion this point in this space. Just an attention chaser and this seems like another statement to try and stir up the masses to hate.

Respected in what way though? I feel like he alienated himself with the demonic and hyper sexualized content he used to promo Montero. A huge portion of the population still identifies with one of the major theistic religions and has conservative values. You’re not going to win those people over by giving the devil a lap dance in stilettos.

Now as far as people who aren’t sensitive to those kinds of things are concerned I think he gets mad respect. People respect him as a hit maker and marketing genius. Now if he wants respect with bars or substance he goin have to come harder, pause
