I don't get it at all

Because he makes shallow streaming slop that his stans and casuals eat up, there’s no incentive for him to drop a classic

Iceman won’t be any better, s***s gonna be ass while a loud minority of online dweebs are gonna label it a classic day 1

Such a good point. A song like push ups would be awesome right about now. Definition of a banger.

The bigger problem is that he has nothing to say. And what he does say is relevant to 15-25 year olds. It’s all very shallow and juvenile.

He doesn’t have good perspective for the 30 and above crowd. It’s all good. He gave us like a thousand hit songs his whole career

    Let's see:

    Yes men
A fanbase that d***sucks everything he does
    Obsessed with numbers
Bitter scorned raps instead of personal introspective lyrics
Adopted a lazy monotone mafia boss flow
Too busy keeping up with trends
    Thinks he's a young nigga

    I think that's kinda it

Drake and J Cole got the same quality discography. He's hardly above anyone else mainstream in terms of output.

The problem lies in that streaming era ie. 2015 onward managed to make how much people care about the music oscillate back and forth that nothing has long lasting impact anymore.

Nobody really cares about To Pimp a Butterfly, If You're Reading This It's Too Late, Life of Pablo, the way they care about MBDTF, Take Care/NWTS, and GKMC. The impact of those albums wasn't driven by ADD social media FOMO.

    --

With that said, For All The Dogs was fantastic as was Her Loss. Drake and Wayne have a very similar trajectory so it's interesting people tolerate Wayne being ass but scrutinize Drake for not putting out Take Care/Views every cycle

Respectfully please don’t ever type at me putting Drake and Cole same sentence.

Type of thing you can only type online. Try getting that take off irl. Embarrassing.

I don't want him to sound like old Drake I just want an album I enjoy the majority of the songs on

Ironically many people say Drake has refused to evolve as an artist.

    So what is it?

He’s been the same since he came or he’s continued to develop his sound?

wanting him to be great doesnt always correlate to wanting the exact same sound
