Interval about to get over (we have it for all movies over here)
Very boring so far and not scary at all.
The scariest thing that has happened is that a lady was opening the door of the theatre to head out for the snacks area right when I was opening the door too from the outside after returning from the washroom and we both got spooked and I said oh s*** and she shrieked at the same time.

2nd half was better (dumb also but yeah).
Pretty generic possession horror movie and an obvious retooling of a planned Evil Dead movie, it could have been actually entertaining if he copied what he did on Rise even more.
I don't have a problem with it not being like other movies in the mummy series cause I've never watched those but I imagine those who like that series will be mad that it's nothing like it apparently.
I think the talks of it having a LOT of gore were a bit exaggerated too, there's just not a lot of scary things in the movie at all in general.

Did you like evil dead rise?
Did you like evil dead rise?
Yes I loved it. Perfect length, tone and loved that the mother was the one who was evil instead of the 1000th movie about a kid being possessed.
Literally evil dead with a mummy overlay, good body horror. The possession tropes are so overdone. I can’t take the one liners. Exorcist did it and now every director wants to include cheesy one liners. It If I write a possession story, they won’t be in or they’ll be so f***ed up it’ll be worth it
Exactly my concern with recent horror movies . Some are just focused on showing demented things , gore and making people squirm . Versus actually delivering a story people care about . Midsommar and hereditary got it . Some of these movies just doing s***
It was fun campy horror
I saw this tonight with no expectation lol I thought it was a remake from the OG The Mummy. It was entertaining, also I would’ve shot the child demon immediately after seeing her like that after 8 years

Fair, my fault
I see them to see them . They are messy stories for sure . I appreciate that they question war and cycles of violence. I’m just saying the longest lasting horror has some layers to it for me . Drag me to hell cabin in the woods fun too
