As far as mgs5 it's biggest issue is the repetition in level design not the actual gameplay like you said.

This game has repetition in actual gameplay and just isn't innovative to stealth or third person shooting gameplay whatsoever. People have literally been clowning it's gameplay since the first last of us because as opposed to a game like mgs5 where you can approach a stealth situation a hundred different ways this basically just boils down to get behind the enemy and choke them 90% of the time, which is incorporated in almost evey third person action game. Mgs1 did it more complex

The gameplay is a part of the story. You killing your way across America to get revenge on Abby factors into the emotions you feel when you finally get to the ending and realize it all wasn't worth it.

Imagine judging uncharted 4 as a game after you just watched the story cutscenes on YouTube like that will possibly give you a favorable opinion of the game

yeah man definitely who said i was deeply passionate about this game? lol i’m giving my opinion on what i watched, i watched the entire game out of pure curiosity and boredom.

actually playing the game is a different experience that adds to it sure but i’m talking purely what the story entails.

And from watching it i guarantee you i would have been upset at wasting my money and time on this.

in some aspects its def better

mgs 3 does have more options like the camo suit changes, dragging bodies, etc

but TLOU2 is clearly far better when it comes to animations, AI detection and moving patterns, and unpredictability.
