Easier to get to 200k or 300k from than it is to get from that number to 400 or 500k

Sorry was gonna respond to your comment in the other thread but I'll say it here. Where we're at right now with sales it's even tough to hit 200k, even Biebers last album didn't hit 200k. Think we're getting to the point now where it's obvious rap sells better than pop. If these future predictions end up being real I think it might be an indicator that sales are making a slight comeback. Without a single too these are crazy numbers, would be the highest first week this year. I genuinely think kenny will be a shoe-in for min 450k man lol

DEHH are right...It's crazy how GOD. sounds like a much improved version of a drake song.

With GOD kendrick literally showed he can do what other rappers do, but a lot better.

You’re the only one that is taking an alts opinion as gospel lol. And this is the Kendrick section lol. Do you see kendrick fans in the CLB thread arguing how good UU is?

i’m not it’s an opinion i’ve seen on social media a lot from people how UU is better than drakes albums

Look What You’ve Done says hello

I think Take Care kind of captures different aspects of being young, in love, and living in excess whether money or substances, and even though it’s not relatable he has a lot to say about his come up. IYRT on the other hand is a love letter to Toronto and has songs like ā€œYou and the 6ā€ and ā€œNow and Foreverā€ that say a lot on that topic.

Kendrick’s music says things that are maybe more socially and politically ā€œimportantā€ but that in and of itself doesn’t put him on a different level as an artist

I think your last point is where we disagree, I’d say his subject matter does put him on a different level of artist bc he’s able to say all that socio cultural ish and still have mass appeal without sacrificing the craft or conforming to trends while still coming off like a relatable human being. He speaks on s*** we all feel. I think that’s a rare breed. The closest album he has conforming to a ā€œtrendyā€ sound is DAMN which still doesn’t sound like any other album that year sonically or thematically.

Drake’s subject matter has mass appeal which is special in its own right but for the most part he hasn’t said anything of substance since that 2011-2015 era. Almost a decade later he’s pretty much rapping about the same s*** he has been since IYRT. His albums feels like checking a box these days, dance hall ish song (fountains) meme song (toosie slide, W2S) a couple introspective standard drake songs (Champagne poetry, Bridle Path, emotionless etc.) some bangers about his unnamed opps and how his mob ties will f*** you up. It just feels like he’s not trying and for the most part he’s certainly not relatable anymore

I feel like Kendrick is on a different artistic level. He is always striving for higher and higher artistic value while never sacrificing his message or artistic merit even when going ā€œcommercialā€ with DAMN.

TLDR: Kendrick is different level of artistic than his peers bc he has yet to show complacency in his artistic endeavors whereas drake has plateau’d seemingly by choice since about 2016- and on

There are ppl that think Drake is total garbage. Also ppl think that carti is the goat lol

You take those opinion seriously? Just ignore the hyperbole

We know those things are untrue lol

Mfs cant handle others having a different opinion

You may be onto something with the color palette. That graphic was originally posted by Punch, iirc. It was definitely shared on TDE’s side.

The cynic in me says they created this graphic so that they weren’t sharing the Oklama announcement which had pgLang insignia all over it.

That def could be a possibility. Next week will be interesting. I didn't remember who first posted it but that makes sense. I like the simplicity of it though.

with that being said, UU is better than anything we've heard from Drake, thats true lol

  • Not sure why people in this thread are arguing over music preferences as if it isn't subjective to the listener. Art isn't sports. Like what you like, other people's opinions don't matter.

it's perfect though, musically...you may not like it, but you can't criticize it...

Bro this is all subjective not objective. You can’t say something is immune to criticism
