So, I won't go into details

But as a result of this album coming out, and increasing the overall dialogue about past trauma

I believe I've finally been able to address the effects of a personal instance of trauma I went through as a kid for a few years.

The way it manifested itself is something I've been afraid to question or address until now. I'm not saying kendrick talked about it, but him talking about his issues has made me look closer at mine.

I feel as a result of identifying cause and effect, I can now go forward knowing its not my fault I'm like this. And I can address this issue knowing it is a result of something I've acknowledged happened out of my control.

It's my mission now to finally eradicate the symptom of that trauma after so long. I'm really in an emotional state, its nearly 2am, I can't believe that it's taken me this long to realise it.

I would never have done this until its too late for me, or until I'd ruined another relationship. This is real.

This album has helped me, I'm going to be able to save myself

    F*** man I can't believe I'm crying rn

    This is so crazy real

I now believe it's possible to fix things and I'm going to do it

Been reading through this thread real slow and just saw this, just wanna say f*** yeah you got this

Kendrick is saying that he used the f word thinking it was no big deal cause he wasn’t trans himself & couldn’t relate to their struggle & how much it hurt.

Then he brings up the white girl to bring up the exact same point, but in a different way. In this scenario, Kendrick is his Uncle & white people are Kendrick’s use of the F word.

White people couldn’t grasp Kendrick’s objection to the use of the n word by the white girl, because they (the white people) aren’t black & obviously can’t relate to the struggle & how much it hurts black ppl for whites to use it.

ā€œI said them F bombs, I ain’t know any better, mistakenly I didn’t think that you know any differentā€

ā€œTo truly understand love. Switch positions. F f f, we can say it together but only if you let a white girl say nā€

This all makes sense and I understand what he’s going for, but I feel like his entire point was undermined by his use of the F word three times before that last sentence. And yes, I know he was talking from a different perspective, but it’s still himself actually saying the word three more times.

I think the point would’ve been delivered a lot better if he would’ve said something like ā€œI know you said it then, now we can say it together / But only if you let a white girl say niggaā€, or something like that that didn’t involve him saying it three more times

I mean the line of allowing the white girl say nigga was funny but overall I'm not sure what he's trying to say

I just think that he says that using the N word is just as offensive to black people as it is to lgbt people when you use the F word
He's not telling u that it's ok using either words or that they hold the same historical weight, but he's realizing his own hypocrisy because he used that word before and that doesn't make him a bad person, we just have to have more understanding and compassion towards others and realize that words are powerful
And it's basically saying if you're not going to use words that offend lgbt people then don't use the n word
Idk that's what I got from it maybe I'm wrong
