It’s a response to what you just said. It’s not just society placing a value on one word over the other. It’s just the fact that one group can still have oppressors as opposed to the other lol

Like the n word is referring to a people who virtually have no rights in society as a whole and s***.

The f bomb is still wrong to say but there’s people in that group who can still benefit from whiteness and their proximity to it.

You even see it in certain industries like the fashion industry which has a lot of white gay men who find success as opposed to black men and women

You said one group can have oppressors within it while the other can’t… you wouldn’t agree with the idea that colorism within the black community is a form of oppression/discrimination that exists in and of itself?

    SCOUSER

    There's levels to this s***

The history of the n word literally wrappe in slavery and blood and we still see the legacy and currency of that today

That's way the word is as toxic as it is

    In terms of hypocrisy

What about the slurs that get tossed around that refer to women? Is it hyoocritical there's outrage about the f word but there's never any about b**** ?

Misogyny is so accepted in rap that we don't even bat an eyelid and women prolly can't even be bothered to summon up the fight

Everyone entitled to opinions and they should voice em if they feel them but people who try make equivalents of things that aren't the same and will never be the same . I don't agree. It's just not as toxic a word with the same impact . Just the same way other ethnic curse words don't have the same impact as that particular one . It don't mean it's right to use em but it's just not the same. and all you need to do is look at history or the news today to see why

I wouldn’t say that b**** is a slur because b**** can be thrown at anyone, people “associate” it with women, but most people I know refer to both men and women as b****es. Just like that line Drake just said in Churchill Downs.

The F slur, on the other hand, is specifically used to degrade queer people and people that belong to the LGBTQ+ community, in the same way that nigga is/was specifically used to degrade African-Americans.

Obviously one of those words has centuries worth more of history and bloodshed behind it, but that doesn’t erase the fact that an entire group of people find the F slur offensive and degrading

Colorism comes from us placing our value on lighter skin right? Which comes from us placing our value on what, Eurocentric beauty standards and what not. That’s what I’m referring to, a lot of our issues in our community can be traced back to white supremacy and colonization.

Like obviously black men can still be misogynistic and homophobic to black women and black gay men, but when I’m talking oppresssion I’m talking about in terms of who holds the most power in this world
