What are you talking about telling Kendrick Lamar he "could've worded it better" ? He used his platform to spread positive and thought-provoking messages just learn

It’s not thought provoking to be the champion of abusers. You get manipulated so easily, he just needs to say Ā« You’re against me because I think different Ā» to believe he’s being cutting edge.

I’ve been ITT for 20 minutes what are you talking about

Y’all are the ones brushing off actual discourse and criticism of the album because some of us aren’t sucking it dry like y’all are

I mean most of your criticism so far has been centered around controversial lines that make up less than 1% of the overall album. And then you’re upset we’re not all up in arms and ready to cancel him.

I’m engaging in discourse about the ideas presented on this album. I’m criticizing it in the same way I criticize any other album.

The album is great, but Kendrick Lamar is not above criticism because he’s Kendrick Lamar, the d***riding seriously needs to stop

When I first woke up: Ready to s***post and troll

First listen: Didn’t like tracks 1-2 that much, but really loved 3-4 and started thinking i liked it

Went through the whole album, still critical but enjoyed most of it

    Immediately restarted the album

Listened to it 5 times in a row at work

Drove home and went to the gym and listened to it there

Went for a run and realized i was still listening and vibing to it, and started thinking about the subject matter

Realized it’s a classic and i have to hold my L

mannnn sometimes u gotta shut the f*** up when u hear love talkin

How was it wrong? My point still stands; the way he executed that idea and that line specifically can come across like he’s trying to defend R. Kelly’s crimes as an adult. Is that what he’s doing? No. But I wouldn’t blame someone who heard that line and came to that conclusion, because that how it comes across. All I’m saying is that idea could’ve been executed in a better way

Why are you worrying how others will interpret the line? If you got it, thats enough

Wonder how many people miss the ā€œThis is what the world sounds likeā€ bit at the beginning of We Cry Together.

Reminds me of people who were like ā€œWhat is These Walls even about?ā€ when the song literally starts off with the word ā€œSexā€

This album is a mental health masterpiece. I finally understand now. I think the Big Stepper part is him finally going to therapy for the first time and going through his toxic ways of thinking. By the Mr Morale portion, the treatment seems to be working a bit more and he reveals where it started and by the end he’s choosing to finally work on himself before being a savior to his community/fans. I think with albums like GKMC and TPAB he dealt with the pain the streets and fame made him go through and then feeling like he had to be the leader of the people while putting himself 2nd to all of this. Kind of using THAT as a coping mechanism

This is how I interpret it tbh

That’s what you said. And that’s clearly false. You made your point but this original post came off as more of a emotional response than a musical one, then you start spouting about you being attacked and s*** lol
