Anyone that has LGBTQ+IA friends or family know how hurtful the use of that word is
This is the equivalent to morgan wallen making a song talking about the black struggle but dropping the n word on it
The message in auntie diaries would've remained the same without the use of a homophobic slur
I know that this is a hurtful word, but do you think context doesn't matter here? Like Kendrick is aware of him being a hypocrite, saying the F-word but not allowing the white girl saying the N-word during the concert. The message maybe would've remained the same but I don't know if it would show this hypocrisy he's talking about as well - that's why he repeats the word so many times.
All in all, the message is very pro-LGBTQ+IA and urging people to understand and love others, putting love even over religion, which is a big thing considering how Christianity and faith is huge for Kendrick.
