I’m more upset that Kendrick ended auntie diaries, a real song, a beautiful song with talking about letting a white girl say nigga…

like dawg just let the beat fade out

It was kinda poorly conveyed but it’s a good point about hypocrisy and how people say it’s just a word when it’s a word that doesn’t offend them.

This the first mainstream rap album in a minute to not feel scripted/like a product

Ironic cause there’s literally an actress on the album

bro i don’t know bout y’all but this album is missing MELODIES. I just wanted some money trees/bitch don’t kill my vibes songs and feel good music for the summer but this album isn’t delivering any song like that. I get the artsy aspects and all the important topics he speaking on but it’s just not for me. These polarizing discussions be everywhere nowadays ion need them to be so present in the music aswell idk. Not for me.

This is why GKMC is his best project and always will be imo, he balanced deep and meaningful storytelling with enjoyable music in the perfect way.

TPAB and Damn didn’t click for me till a few days. Gonna be the same for this one. Also thought this was gonna be funky lol

This album strangely feels lonely and desolate, even with the features. The mixing/mastering gives off a vibe that’s rarely used in mainstream music

Listening to new albums so long always dificult like for some of these songs im just not in the mood. like I just woke up still imy bed some songs just dont hit like I think they will in the car for example

Yah that's always rough about listening to an album for the first time. Took Blonde a year to hit for me cause I needed to be fresh off a breakup

I think it’d help if more people understood that Kendrick generally isn’t trying to educate on this album. It’s more about his emotions personified and given entire voices/character arcs, his personal growth unfiltered, and redemption. It’s ugly and messy and gives no answers but it’s not supposed to.

The album is extremely confusing and weird but not in a ā€œhe missed the markā€ way. It’s a raw, honest take on the world from the a bunch of different perspectives.

Niggas are forgetting he grew up in f***ing COMPTON. If he’s giving voice to all of the complex emotions he’s felt growing up and experiencing life, he has to play a young compton kid, a drunk womanizer, a flashy rapper, and several other things. Baring all your most problematic, flawed traits like that is going to be unsettling no matter what and I’m glad he didn’t hold back.

but nah bro he gotta know better or whatever the f***
