    UNCUT GEMS - very good

Liked this even more than Good Time. Haven’t actually seen good time since it was in theatres so take it with a grain of salt. UG just felt more even throughout. Definitely felt like they were more rounded and experienced film makers now. Sandler was good, but I don’t think he was THAT incredible. Feel like he got some huge praise by people who hadn’t ever seen stuff like Punch drunk Love and we’re surprised. Obviously a stand out performance in his career though. PDL was better though.

Also just had this thought that the Safdies work reminds me a bit of Romain Gavras. Maybe it’s just in my head because Gavras last film The World is Yours was released through Netflix here and I watched UC on Netflix. But still. Does anybody feel some of the similarities or am I off base?

    Rewatch. 5/5 obviously

Watched all of these over the weekend. Hilarious. Some of the jokes were dated/too distasteful, but I didn't mind really.

Read online that Ed Helms is supposedly starring in a reboot of them. He's funny but I don't know if he has the same charm as Leslie Nielsen.

I understand why this was liked, really well made, but I have a hard time enjoying a movie where I can't root for any of the characters.
