The Meyerowitz Stories

I really really liked this movie. love a good comedy-drama about dysfunctional family set in modern times.
edit: only thing I didn’t get was Adam Sandler’s daughters film school projects.. don’t think I’m art school enough to know what those were about lol

Really enjoyed this movie. I enjoyed how unusual it is on the movie landscape. It puts nihilism, cynicism, fatalism and depression under one roof and it conveys a beautiful hidden message of how much more resilient people with depression are compared to the average "happy" Joe like me who just can't understand until tables turn. Von Trier created that scenario and it's just something so different from most mainstream and indie movies out there. There are just so much in symbolism, metaphors and parables I could write paragraphs about but that would spoil it. I'm loving this a lot. Definitely not for people who need a traditional Hollywood plot but I think if you're still interested 30 min in and you read between the lines, the emotions and what is actually going on, those 2 hours will fly by real fast.
I been trying to watch a lot of the decade’s more praised artsy/left field films recently and this post makes me want to add Melancholia to what is already a too long list
It chapter 2
Movie actually started out pretty good, especially at the beginning when xavier dolan got f***ed up. That caught me off guard. I read the book, but i didn't expected that scene to be so brutal. Whatever, the movie goes downhill right after the scene with Bev and the old lady. Some parts where decent, but overall it wasn't scary and too long.
richard jewell.
one of those slow burns. doesn't hit you until you're home. eastwood a genius for this one.
Just seen Pain & Glory, s*** was too nice. Turin Horse yesterday was a tiring watch (good & bad way), but I’m very glad to have seen it. Will probably appreciate it more w more Tarr
