I think it’s one of the best films I’ve ever seen.
The extended cut is the only way to watch it
What did you think of that one scene? I was scrambling

5/10
been on a Pablo Larraín binge the past few days. talented filmmaker putting on for Chile 🇨🇱
Ema 8.5/10
Spencer 7.5/10
Jackie 9/10
excited to see which famous stressed woman he does next to complete the trilogy and then how he handles a different subject matter afterwards
Larraín chooses some of the best composers too; Mica Levi, Nicolás Jaar, Jonny Greenwood. really shows how important the score is in his films. hope Nicholas Britell, Emile Mosseri, and Max Richter get a shot at a Larraín film too
the dark knight rises, this review cracked me up.
not half a star but movie is a 6/10 because the score and spectacularity over the plot(holes)

my g used to love this movie in hs
incredible song

Lifeforce (1985)
The Phantom of the Convent (1934)
Confidentially Yours (1983)
Scream (2022) This really peaks with the opening scene
Finally got around to Matrix Resurrections
Clever name, in line with Reloaded and Revalations given the plot of the movie and being a revived franchise
It was light on the fighting and I didn't mind, but it felt very erratic in the camera movement and hard to follow at times, whereas the original trilogy films felt very stable and easy to enjoy
Had some absolutely brilliant/intense monologues that held my interest just as much, if not more, than the fighting itself
Lot of people probably felt like they were too heavy handed with the self awareness of a fourth sequel but f*** it, I enjoyed every moment of it
New Morpheus is good but it felt like the character should have been more powerful and authoritative
New Agent Smith could not have been done better. Dude played that role WAY too good and totally carried all of his interactions with Neo, just like in the trilogy. But this made me realize how passive of a character Neo is whenever they do talk. Smith always steals the spotlight and facilitates the conversation. Would've been nice to see a bit of back and forth, like that interviewing scene at the beginning.
Well done and respectful revival overall, my only complain was the relatively tame fight and the very jarring shift in direction when the stingray came in and spoke to the general. They were switching between like, 3 scenes for like 5 minutes straight. Who the hell approved that? They did the same thing in Reloaded and it confused the hell out of me. Anyway, good watch overall.
3.8-4/5
8/10. What a movie. It can be released today in the exact same look and the Cinematographer and editor will still win the Oscar. Ahead of its time it's unbelievable. The last 45 minutes was crazy
4/5
Not sure what I wanna say about this movie. All I know is that it made me feel different things. More so than other romance/dramas like Blue Valentine. It’s not the first time I’ve seen a movie about finding yourself amongst the messes of life from relationships, career, health but this movie just did it well I think. Also wanna mention it was beautifully shot. The scene where they do shrooms was kinda crazy lol
I’m usually a rom com kinda guy but movies like this I also love.
i think the most interesting thing this movie did was it's depiction of the boyfriend
the final moments of the movie where we really get a new empathetic angle on him was so surprising. it could've easily left him behind and left him as the oblivious, bitter ex (pretty fairly) but him looking back obsession of media during his life leaving him with nothing was a great way to dig into the dude a little more. real good movie but definitely carried by renate reinsve lol
