very bad adaptation of a well written and influential crime novel. casey affleck's deadpan stoicism didn't capture the main character at all. pacing and tone were way off and it all seemed mailed in with low stakes. also, the violence against women was gratuitous while the violence against men was skipped over. only saving grace was the Jessica alba s***scenes, which didn't show much but reminded me she's top 10.

Solid film.

I was really impressed by the acting in the film. I watched Tenet last month and Robert Pattinson's performance in that film was great and he didn't disappoint with this one either. Benny Safdie did a great job too... was surprised to see him in the film lol.

After watching this, I think Uncut Gems is a bit better though. I liked the plot more... felt more invested in Howard's crazy world.
