i've read about some of the stuff in that movie like a rape(?) scene and fire extinguisher beatdown(Might be another movie) scene, I like to smoke before watching movies
after watching the rape scene in perfect blue while high af I now check if the vibes aren't too dark before smoking and watching bc that s*** killed my vibe
Idk man A Clockwork Orange is super funny to me, the rape scene wasn't even hard to watch imo
it's very much over the top

The rape scene in irreversible

Oh my bad. Yeah the rape scene in Irréversible is WOAT, stay away if you can't stomach that type of s***... that being said, it's actually one of my fav films of the 00's.
Have you ever seen a Gaspar Noé film? Since you said you like smoking? His films are super trippy and psychedelic, no other film maker is even in the same realm when it comes to that imo
You should see Enter The Void high af, changed my life tbh

maborosi. 4.5/5
what a directorial debut. kore-eda the best humanist director in the game rn

French Cancan serious heat
French Cancan serious heat
out of the 10 or so renoirs this might be the most fire one i've seen
although the lower depths and la nuit du carrefour are up there too. both in dire need of restorations. the latter is so eerie and dark
his older films dwelled more in natural setting and realism but this with its deeply saturated colors and technicolor film stock really sets it apart as true eye candy.
love this almost theatrical form French Cancan has. need to check out the Golden Coach and Elena and Her Men later

loving what Rivette has to offer! I had to take a looong ass time to watch another one of his films after starting at the deep end with 'La Belle Noiseuse'.
Also back on Rohmer
finished the 4 Seasons Tale series
that was so fun. A Summer's Tale is really good
snubbing Rope, eh?
