Sympathy for Lady Vengeance

this was good too. thought the middle lagged a bit but the ending was very strong. Park Chan Wook portrays really interesting characters but I think I prefer his films where children aren't kidnapped, tortured, and murdered.
7/10
haven't seen all his work but I'd rank what I've seen from Chan Wook like:
1. The Handmaiden
2. Oldboy
3. Stoker (gotta revisit this but I remember enjoying it a lot)
4. Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance
5. Sympathy for Lady Vengeance
thinking of checking out his series The Little Drummer Girl. anybody seen that and would recommend it?
oh wow forgot about stoker.. that’s some good piano p***

The Trouble with Being Born (2020)
dir. Sandra Wollner
easily the best movie made in 10 or 20 years
f***!

Probably my least favorite Kubrick film but still an enjoyable watch. It doesn't feel like the film is nearly 3 hours when I was re-watching & in retrospect Kidman's acting was pretty terrible.

"I'm Not There"
Dir. Todd Haynes
I really enjoyed it. Not that I would recommend it to a lot of people but it’s an original approach to the “biopic” if it can even be called one. Biopics are so bland for the most part—even if well made. It’s a cool exploration of the various notions of Dylan that people have had over the years: the traveling vagabond, amphetamine rock god, reclusive country picker, etc.
