Saw II - 6/10

Can't tell whether this was good or trash. Story and suspense is good but the movie is hurt by the acting and the editing. The camera cuts way too much and the film has this grainy, yellow filter over everything that just makes it look disgusting. Regardless it's entertaining and I'll watch the rest of them eventually.

Both present a seemingly very linear storytelling form of one of the most popular genre stories of their time in their respective format but do so in such a way where you can read between the lines and realize that very form is in service of a different idea

Punch Drunk Love

saw it around 6-8 years ago and didn't remember much. forgot how heartwarming and enjoyable this was. i was smiling through most of the movie. also loved the pacing of the movie. shows that not all good movies have to be over 2 hours. PTA was in top form on this one and Jon brion killed the score too.
