Do you know teachers aren’t allowed to touch students period which includes breaking up a fight? She risks getting fired, especially since it’s on camera, and if her or the student get hurt she’s definitely getting fired.

Not that it was wrong per se, but she knew she wasn’t supposed to do that which is why she pulled back. It didn’t help that it was being recorded, might have been different if there were no cameras.

I get he morality aspect but she might really need that job. She could have a family to feed and getting hired after breaking a serious policy like that is challenging, if she doesn’t get sued by the parents. She SHOULD have called for help way earlier, and WAY louder.

I suppose, but watching someone take like 12 blows to the back of the head (not resisting) is reasonably similar to watching someone get choked, like at what point is it morally negligent

It was a lose-lose situation for her altogether. I guess in her defense she couldn’t have known that student would have kept going as hard as she did and could have stepped between her to body those punches, but I don’t know.

I doubt teacher would have gotten in trouble for stopping someone from killing someome. What if the girl kept going?

They have fired people for less, and your faith is misplaced in the better judgement of the school system. They are not concerned with doing what is right, they are concerned with avoiding liability as much as possible. Situations like this are exactly why the policies exist.

What if the girl kept going? Not sure. She would have had to make a choice to interfere or not.

I have seen 0 examples of people getting fired for stopping someone from beating a person they knocked unconscious. At the very least she could have yelled for help and told students to call and get someone.
