Jesus f***ing Christ. I am astonished at how appalling this was. The directing, cinematography, music, CGI, choreography etc... It's worse than the 1999 original in every conceivable way. I went in thinking that even if the story disappointed, the technical elements would still be brilliant. How could these proven, tested ingredients possibly be realised so poorly over twenty years later?

I was so excited when Matrix 4 was announced, because surely even if it was bad atleast the series had already been kinda tarnished (Even though I really, really love Revolutions)...

Yeah, I was wrong. It was one thing to ditch the whole Matrix aesthetic that I was looking forward to, but making a movie that looks and plays out this badly... Editing was weak in the sequels and the story was a bit too ambitious in those 2, but this is just wrong and I genuinely think it was unethical for Lana to make a movie she so clearly didn't want to make.

Let’s be real, no one could do “the matrix” better than the sister’s. Even if I didn’t love this movie, it can’t be done by anyone else.
