If Fishburne price only went expansively up between now and 20 years ago then combine that with his purpose is literally done. He was all about the prophecy. The only reason they even need him in anyway in this movie is because he is training Neo and offering him pills again. Which again as above pictures hint and everything else Yahya Morpheus isnt real he is created by machines based on what they know of Morpheus. Which is why the ones alive in reality are likely just Neo Trinity Jada and a few others. Morpheus exist in the Matrix but not reality. Thats why he staring at mirror like that and seeing the code

He did ask for more money back then . His asking price for WB would be crazy high . We already know Kenau and some others have deals based on box office . WB blowing all their money on f***ing super hero films not matrix 4 coming off two panned sequels

Fishburne back then was a star, now he's just happy to cash a paycheck, his cameo in John wick 3 (or was it 2?) Was a perfect example. He's mostly a redbox guy now so he d be hype as hell to be in a movie like this. Hugo Weaving def has a bigger asking price

But thats part of why I am confused on why people want to see him again. He is in John Wick and they see each other again. Hugo Weaving I get. I get missing Laurence Fishburne in action roles overall and main character level but shrug I aint dying at him not being there. Obviously would be cool post credits or end scene to have Morpheus or Agent Smith to get people hyped in lore again or about future

It's because they see a Morpheus recast in the trailer. Obviously it ll prolly be plot related but it's def a confusing thing to see as your first look at a sequel to an old trilogy where he was on every movie poster

But Morpheus whole plotline and character arc was beyond wrapped. Like he got a happy ending and everything in a way. If they brought him back would be like El Camino. Like how better can Morpheus go out than how he did? What more was left for him to do in Zion or for him to show Neo? He has no love interest. He nearly died movie 1 and 2 lol.
