might be my favorite song on the entire album
This and "These Walls" my favorites
and "u" idgaf
😐
Liking GKMC more than TPAB is contrarian now?? What the f*** kinda dumb s*** is that
GKMC is easily more replayable while having similar depth (not taking anything away from TPAB, it is an amazing project front to back)
he’s a plugnb truther don’t even reply to him lmaooo
plugnb truther
GKMC is great but it honestly didn't age that great, it sounds very much early 2010's. TPAB sounds timeless
It's the drums
I would just like to point out TPAB enjoyers have to scramble and pull out reasons for why the album is better while GKMC fans just say it’s better and most ppl agree

I said they're equal
plugnb truther
so many niggas be on here so unserious lmao
like what a surprise the plugnb stan thinks TPAB is too content heavy and lacks musical enjoyability
Cause ya'll heard it first. Nothing more
GKMC best songs are the slow ones
I like TPAB more than GKMC, by a good amount too
But "m.A.A.d City" not only has some of the most complex storytelling in rap history on it but can light up a party or show like it's nothing. It's a generational anthem that can be played in literally any setting, a classroom, a club, a concert, the car, the gym, in your bedroom, anywhere. If that's what people look for in music I totally get why'd they enjoy GKMC more
@op Can your next thread be Is it wrong to only listen to music to feel good

It's the longest charting hip hop studio album in Billboard history for a reason
It's the drums
Yeah, probably. And dont get me wrong I love that era

Oh sorry you mean the actual song, yeah for sure, but Alright clears. That s*** during the riots is incomparable
Idk about parties or clubs that s*** had marches churching
GKMC & TPAB are both within the best rap albums of all time and deciding which one is better literally just comes down to subjective preference. Not even worth to argue tbh

I know I was in the trenches in 2020 lol
TPAB is a super intense and demanding listen and I respect that that wont resonate with everyone. I enjoy it because of that aspect but I get why it might be too much for some people even with the best intentions. I can't listen to it in pieces generally only because once I hear one song I gotta listen to the whole thing or I get annoyed lowkey

The drums on Swimming Pools and Money Trees legit sound like early 2010s, probably the only negative I can see about that album
Still my favorite Kendrick project though

I can get behind this

yeah we're exactly the same. I was going to say this and this is why I actually like TPAB more - I always wanna hear just one song isolated and end up front to backing it
TPAB clears GKMC without a second thought tbh, only contrarians try to make the argument that GKMC is better because TPAB is the hipster “one of the good ones” picks for rap music
TPAB might be genuinely the closest thing to a perfect rap album, all of the constant praise it constantly gets actually takes away from it ironically
GKMC isn't a contrarian take to have because of popularity, a non linear story that's actually v straight forward in retrospect, and more digestible rap album for most people
The real contrarian take is saying S80 is better than TPAB

Kush & Corinthians is a top 5-10 kendrick song and I won’t be taking any comments
