I definitely hear Pharrell inspiration all in the melodies of the song writing. Sounds like something he wouldve written for Usher or Justin in the melody department (back in the day) not the lyrics obviously.

Nah this doesn’t feel intended to channel the Neptunes. Moreso the Neptunes and whoever produced this both pulled from the same well of late 90s-early 00s pop-r&b pastiche that lead to extended chord progressions + vocal harmonies like the one in this song
