I never said that its irrelevant, I said that's its pretty heavily debated and the limitation i quoted is the reason why.

Again man I'm telling you this s*** is not heavily debated in academia. Just because there are still studies looking into it doesn't mean it's heavily debated. I keep telling you it's decried by multiple organizations because of the overwhelming amount of research.
Unless you can articulate why these limitations you're proposing are relevant enough to reconsider - I don't see how they actually change anything.
You also don't need studies to necessarily inform a moral opinion. Legally in the U.S., spanking isn't child abuse. Legally in a lot of the world it is.
Morally, it's child abuse.
