Young DI love you man, but if you’re implying that Newsome is gonna have to be the guy because he’s the most electable I just flat out disagree.
Even if we put his own politics/ideology aside for a second, I just view him as unelectable and damaging to the Dems chances of building a lasting coalition. I think if he did win a General election A) it would only be because any Dem could win because the political environment would be so bad for the GOP and B) it would lead to Dems getting destroyed in midterms just like the GOP does when Trump is not on the ballot
I get that. Newsom isnt close to somebody I want to see running, but he's the only one who's clearly making a push for it.
I just see someone getting this far in front of the election gaining an advantage.We still have awhile before we have to worry about it thankfully

I definitely agree with you that Trump as of right now wants to run again (we’ll see where his health is in a year and a half), but I think the constitution would have posed a massive challenge for him even if he was relatively popular and things were running well
The fact that we’re headed for a recession and an extremely unpopular war that he started? I wouldn’t bet a dime that he comes close to getting to be the nominee again

Ngl, it's kinda insane US don't have a centralized system like pretty much rest of the world already have when it comes to voting
They don't need to show ID because they have Universal ID and it already tells you if you're citizen or a resident
So voting as an illegal is 100% impossible and you don't need to show ID because your voting card that was mailed to you already states you're a citizen

It’s crazy how on premise I agree with the concept only because it should encourage free and easily accessible ID for all US citizens as a right. The way they’re going about it is so disgusting and obviously politically motivated but it really just goes to show how s*** our government is
