Newsome is an opportunist riding the anti-Trump “blue” wave and I’ll vote for him if I have to but if the NYC race has shown us anything it’s that a more progressive candidate without prior political baggage could do better.
I would be more inclined to see Pete Buttigieg or Jon Ossof on the ballot, but I think the democratic candidate race will be a good one that Newsome might struggle with regardless.

The one thing I can't get my head around is who would be a good candidate in his place? Not saying he's good whatsoever but his anti Trump s*** is working and JD is a dunce. I don't see AOC or any of the progressive candidates winning the nationwide general at this time. Things could change in 3 years but still.
