This uni is exceptionally known for protests, the area is very known for being aggressively left. I think I heard they couldn't actually get the local cops to participate which is why they got county/city cops outside the area to do it

Pete Buttigieg is clearly making a strong push for his candidacy in ‘28, consistently appearing on opposition shows and being well spoken but measured, as well as embracing new mediums like podcasts. I remember being impressed with him at the debates in 2020 but also felt he was classically democrat and not pushing left enough. I think he’s pushing a bit more left now though, and is recognizing the need for a lot of reform especially in education and healthcare.

Will be curious to see how the primaries turn out, I would be surprised to see Bernie make another run, but equally surprised if they have AOC run in his place.

Ultimately I’m terribly disappointed that despite the worst health crisis in the past 100 years with COVID there’s been no strong discussion for universal healthcare, but with the current administration I understand it’s hard to focus on any single issue with so many problems happening.

And I definitely do not see Pete attempting to get the Left vote. He’s a policy wonk for sure, but his policy approaches have always been extremely moderate.

Speaking of the Left vote though, I’d be very curious to see who will attempt to challenge AOC for even the mainstream Left vote (like Warren was aiming for in 2020). Only name that comes to mind is Ro Khanna, but I don’t think he has the name recognition or charisma to get enough appeal.
