The idea that dems having to go the AOC route to win 2028 is so incredibly dumb. I don’t dislike her at all, but I don’t think AOC would win one single swing state

Idk normally I’d agree but that’s with the idea of capturing some of the centrist voters in the US. But centrists clearly don’t matter when/if they are okay with voting for Trump.

So if AOC ran for presidency it would be with the aim of energizing liberals and progressives that maybe felt disenchanted with Kamala in the last election, or disenfranchised by the Dems in general since 2016, rather than trying to sway any type of “centrists.”

    Waterloooo

She literally identifies as a social democrat?

Yes, a social Democrat is not far left or even socialist.

The 'far left' isn't capitalists. Shocker.

I personally don’t think Kamala lost because she was ‘too centrist’. Kamala lost because she was one of the most unpopular Vice Presidents ever, tied to an unpopular Biden presidency, had zero charisma, did not have any policy point besides ‘I’m not Trump’, and (this is unfortunate but true) because she is a woman of color. Sure having the Cheney’s endorse her didn’t help, but I don’t really believe that she lost because she didn’t mobilize enough leftists. If you told me in 2023 that Kamala would get as high as 48% of the popular vote I wouldn’t have believed you.

I personally think that any white male with charisma and a coherent story will wipe the floor with Vance in 2028. Especially cus this Trump presidency will be disastrous. Going for AOC would be an unnecessary risk for the democrats imo.

That’s a fair assessment I don’t think you’re wrong. I’d like to see her in the primary debates though. I’ve liked Pete Buttigieg’s debates and appearances in the news he could be a good choice even though he’s gay.

If Trump runs in 2028, which he probably will, the dems cannot run a woman.

I don't disagree with that. But undecided voters are basic as f***.

If you run a woman against Trump, she will and has lost. Everytime.

People do not want to admit it, but they don't want a female president. Obviously there's a good amount of people that aren't that bigoted, but there are way more with that bias than you'd imagine, including women.

Actual link please. I don't believe it, but several weeks ago I did post Trump saying he doesn't believe in confessing his sins and asking for forgiveness and posted a blog of a theologian making the case that if the antichrist is real, then it's Trump. I sent it to the pro Trump people I know just to troll them for the most part since they are Catholics and Christians.

For sure that’s the smart, safe thing to do. But I think contextually the strategy with AOC differs from Hillary/Kamala, who were also women but fundamentally establishment and status quo politicians which I think plays a large part in their loss on top of being women.

AOC is more populist in a similar vein as Trump. But right wing propaganda saw this coming 10 years ago and has helped brainwash their followers into thinking she’s the leftist Antichrist.

I’m not convinced another establishment democrat politician can win an election even if they are a white man.

There’s also the fact that democrats have zero vision and they ran garbage political candidates
