their is no "american political spectrum" because american political decisions effect everybody on earth. they are by any standard center-right.

So where are AOC and Bernie in the political spectrum of American politics?

They're Democrats that lean into aspects of social programs slightly more than other Democrats. They're still Democrats and are still clear capitalists.

Thinking tax money should be used as a return for funding programs doesn't define 'far left' anywhere aside from Fox News, Twitter, or trump/trump affiliates not does it go against the status quo.

'far left' isn't a reactionary term that exists in a vacuum as a result of where the 'right' currently exists. It has it's own parameters and isn't something that is only relative to the opposition. Allies during WW2 were not the far left just because the axis powers existed.

I understand your perspective but I believe political theory is much more fluid than that. As well as terms like left, socialism, communism, capitalism, etc.. just like you said, they don’t exist in a vacuum, they are based heavily on interpretation and situation. political theory and social theory isn’t an exact science. From an economic perspective they support a level of regulation and social programs that is ‘left’… Left unlike you said, is a term that will have different meanings depending on where you live. Though in the grander scale they may not be far left, in the context of america, and its current political representation in a two party system, I don’t think there are many people farther left. ‘Far left’ may have not been the best word on my part, as I don’t mean it in the extremist sense, but I do think they belong to slice of American media politics (supported through entities like TYT, Democracy now , etc…) that is heavily egalitarian. Though AOC has been a bit shaky over the more recent years. I still think she represents the she represents side of society, as well as Bernie. Socialisms as a construct has shifted, varied and manifested itself very differently, depending on location and person, as far as what can be achieved and how it can be achieved. Idk that’s my two cents

You're implying capitalist liberals are 'the far left,' even mentioning socialism in reference to aoc lol

I had to use something extremely simple to help you understand, but I now realize that is a lost cause

The idea that dems having to go the AOC route to win 2028 is so incredibly dumb. I don’t dislike her at all, but I don’t think AOC would win one single swing state
