Growing up is accepting that people can have opinions. I love majority of Cudi and Bino’s catalog, but I’m not going to force niggas to like their s***

Sure people can have their own opinions and they can like terrible albums.

Just doesn't change the fact that they're terrible

Definitely, I'm not trying to force anyone to like Cudi, or one of the other. I'm just saying that Cudi is the originator of this style of rap that Bino started out making. Camp was basically inspired by Cudi, Bino got the blueprint for his career off of the MOTM series. I'm just saying

Even with Movies & TV, Cudi pioneered for guys like Gambino. Dude was in How To Make It In America, putting on for that type of crowd on HBO in 09.

I prefer Cudi’s music but I think you’re forgetting Bino started on the TV side. He was writing on 30 Rock

I can see somewhat Camp, but BTI and onwards was where things was full gear ahead

This is true, but as far as the alternative/hipster black guy being represented on TV at the time, Cudi broke through on that first imo.

    Write as well

Community came out in 2009 before How to Make it in America. Also Donald was writing 30 Rock before that

Gambino role in community is more iconic than anything kid cudi has done ever

Man, I don't even want to diss Community like that, but Bino was one of those "that black guy" on that show. Cudi was literally playing himself on How To Make It In America

We did Bino vs Tyler and Bino won.

I'd assume we'd get the same results.

Playing yourself makes it less impressive

Regardless of what trope you think Gambino was in community it’s still a legendary character and the show was worse off without him

Saying Troy Barnes was just "that black guy" is crazy. Especially considering he started as a writer for 30 rock

Idc for either of them niggas but what does Cudi have over Gambino besides

    • a distinct voice
    • Day n Nite/Pursuit of Happiness
    • Kanye mythology
    • a better name
    • a little more edge

If we talking about better music and more talent, that goes to Gambino quite easily

Not really because Gambino never dropped pure unfiltered dogshit like Insano, SB2H, WZRD, or Satellite Flight.

Y'all keep tryna fall back on Camp when even at its absolute worst, still was not as bad as SB2H.

WZRD and satellite flight are dog s***?

Cudi so lame man, his mopey whiny “lord of the sad and lonely” raps hit when you’re a mopey whiny 16-year-old, but as an adult it just comes across as so juvenile. Delusions of grandeur out the ass

listening to soundtrack 2 my life now is a totally different experience than it was 15 years ago lmao. he said "The moon will illuminate my room and soon I'm consumed by my doom/Once upon a time nobody gave a f***/It's all said and done and my cock's been sucked"
