Kendrick talking about his life inevitably deals with oppression brother. The same way most of us who grew up in or around f***ed up urban environments would have to talk about and use imagery of injustice to describe our lives. What are you on about?

I don't think people like Noname would be wrong for expecting them to say something A big reason they have that platform and their success is because they talk about that s***. It's weird to see someone say "Fuck the government, they don't care about us", "Fuck the police they killing us" but then they're just AWOL when s*** actually goes down

You guys have no proof that they were actually marching before the tweet. Noname tweeted 29 May. They just happened to get pictures of J Cole at a protest a few days later and Kendrick early in June

She was loud and wrong. They didn’t make some special post bringing attention to it themselves because that’s not what true activism is about. Her doing that and the black squares at the time is perfect example of what “activism” has devolved into. Social media optics that are just another form of you posting yourself wearing the Astro boy boots or whatever trendy thing it is that month

so noname made an assumption sent a shot then s*** came out proving that assumption wrong cuz she was impatient and we want to give her props?
they werent gone when s*** went down dawg TPAB released in the middle of a big ass moment the black lives matter s*** was at its peak in 2015. and before that, when it was way less popular. S*** was a global phenomenon with k dot and cole involved or not, which they turned out to be involved in, stop it man. Expecting, is different than condemning.

If Kendrick and J Cole were going to protests like you say and nothing would be achieved by them publicly showing support for the movement, why did photographs of them protesting happen to be taken and made public for the first time within 10 days of her tweet?

We're talking about 2020, not 2015. That's what Noname tweeted about. And Kendrick was gone at that point

Kendrick made TPAB, that's the point. He's been invoking figures like MLK, Malcolm X, 2Pac since OD and S80. And he's benefitted off it, Alright streams jumped substantially after George Floyd's death. I don't think it's unreasonable to criticize an artist like that for being silent at a time like that
