So what’s wrong with someone deciding to continue being an activist but silently? What’s wrong with that?
Being an activist silently is pretty hard to do lol especially if you're famous
It just boils down to charity at that point usually
That’s not even what she called them out for tho. She was upset that they weren’t doing anything about the George Floyd situation or rather we didn’t see them doing anything cus they don’t advertise their activism like she does.
Imagine being as famous as Cole/Kendrick and not using your platform to publicly advocate for what you believe in

Have u listened to any of their music?

Kendrick's song on police violence against black people is Blacker the Berry and it's one of his worst songs. That last second M Night Shyamalan twist is heinous
Non-sequitur Fox News talking point

I always felt like she kinda had a point
Kendrick explicitly been mentioning figures like Huey Newton, Malcolm X, MLK, 2Pac throughout his career. J Cole came out for Mike Brown, dropped Be Free and did it on Letterman. Made a song about meeting Obama and trying to get him to change s***. Both of them did things that resulted in them being viewed as these "socially conscious" rappers and they benefitted from it in some ways
The fact that people knew who she was referring to and they both felt the need to respond says a lot. She said no names but Big Sean, ASAP Rocky and Drake didn't feel the need to respond. If the shoe fits, hit dogs holler and all that. She can't force them to speak on issues, but I don't think she was wrong for pointing out that they were silent even though racism and social injustice are big parts of their content and image
Kendrick was a silent marcher, niggas just talking out their ass
Those pictures of Kendrick at a protest dropped after her tweet btw

Sorry man but WHAT ABOUT BLACK ON BLACK VIOLENCE is s*** a racist uncle says at Thanksgiving. The song treats it like a checkmate.

if you're openly standing up for something like BLM or Gaza theres gonna be a lot of negative publicity and you could likely lose money and deals, especially for the former.
how many artists are willing to go against their material interests in order to stand up for something? Kanye is the only one I can think of although his "beliefs" were insano

Celebs would not lose anything by showing support for George Floyd. The opposite is true, as proven by Kanye

Dude said "maybe look in the mirror before criticizing the LAPD"

Bro Kendrick censored himself at the Superbowl lmfao, him and Cole prioritize their own careers and financial interests over social issues and got upset cuz Noname exposed them for it. At least Kendrick is self aware about it now
Get em Cole!!!
F*** Shaun King and those of his ilk
But he got a lot richer than those activists did rapping about oppression lol
So that doesn't work

Kapernick and Cole are besties. Idk who Cole is even talking about besides anyone who has criticized him personally
Yachty calls himself Malcolm X and says his jewlery is just a disguise on the same song btw

yea the phrasing makes it sound like Cole is just a regular guy and not a multi-millionaire as well
also so corny to cite Shaun King as the reason you don't speak out
Those pictures of Kendrick at a protest dropped after her tweet btw
But who’s to say he wasn’t already out there protesting before being noticed once he was next to Westbrook and DeRozan?

But it is totally possible, is it not? Who’s to say Kendrick wasn’t already actively doing it? It’s also very well known that he’s a silent donor much like Kyrie

Yeah it's just cope for a guy who lost his ideals as he got older bc it started going against his material interests and is desperately trying to morally reconcile that with who he thought he was
