TPAB ain’t inspire that one in particular. Steve Lacy was already doing that sound he came up in the alternative LA scene under The Internet, and that scene had influence on TPAB. but those soulful sounds were already brewing there and Lacy had already done similar stuff
The TPAB influence on 4YEO is most obvious on the “she’s mine” interludes mirroring the for free for sale ones. And maybe Ville Mentality.
Steve lacy influenced tpab is hilarious bait
Cole needs to not stop music until he atleast have 3 classics in his name if he really want to have a valid stance for #1
Feel like I'll appreciate 4yeo more when I get older
On some real s*** I’m getting old and it’s one of my personal favorite albums now
“I woke up feeling like the best version of me”
Such a good song
Beat is amazing, I don’t get the hate
On some real s*** I’m getting old and it’s one of my personal favorite albums now
It’s his best imo
Steve lacy influenced tpab is hilarious bait
I said that? Nope but Lacy was a part of a scene (still a protege at this time) that was already cooking those sounds for a minute. TPAB was just the mainstream rap arrival of those sounds
Saying TPAB inspired Steve Lacy sound is just as crazy. He already had s*** out and that was already his sound
Common knowledge that TPAB pulled from a specific LA alternative scene/the beat scene
Jesus Christ To Pimp A Butterfly is so f***ing good!
How in the hell this little nigga come up with this s***?
Beat is amazing, I don’t get the hate
It’s literally just people judging music based on their perception of what’s cool and not on the actual music
People just label it as another sleepy Cole track but if Steve Lacy had that beat somewhere else it would get more love

J Cole’s take on tpab reminded me he’s half qwhite
Funny considering the champions of that album
J Cole’s take on tpab reminded me he’s half qwhite
Considering he grew up in Germany and from suburban North Carolina, he might be full blown white

I was listening to The Internet before TPAB. I didn’t say Kendrick invented any type of sound. But there was no one in the mainstream that was making music that sounded like TPAB. It’s just obvious that TPAB inspired 4YEO. Just like after that Cole himself said that DAMN inspired KOD.
You're all a bunch of f***ing a******s
You know why?
You don't have the guts to be what you wanna be
You need people like me
You need people like me, so you can point your f***ing fingers
And say that's the bad guy

one has to wonder why any artist would go against drake when you could stand by him and win the full backing of the papi's angels. they're literally giving up an unpaid PR team and defense squad just to be salty because he f***ed their b**** or something.
