Not Like Us refers to Drake being a tryhard and a fraud unlike Kendrick who doesn’t use ghostwriters and doesn’t try to fit in with gen z. yall drake stans don’t know how to interpret lyrics?🤣

It’s hilarious how they went from “Kendrick fans over a***yze every Kendrick song and verse” to doing exactly that.

Any Kendrick fan still saying he didn't question Drake's blackness MULTIPLE times is a f***ing idiot. They think everyone lacks comprehension abilities like them.

You’re really getting upset at people interpreting art differently from you

There was talks of it. Drake just had so much goodwill from the public that it got drowned out.

Now that he made his heel turn these convos are more visible lol

How is it him colonizing atlanta if it is a mutually beneficial collab? Thats what I don't understand. Both artists, Drake & say Migos or Lil Baby, get exposure for their collabs. thats a bad thing?

Artists just aren't supposed to crossover anymore?

Kendrick used Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, and The Lonely Island to propel his career into the pop audience and then abandoned them. Sad.

The problem with Kendrick taking that narrative is that it was always going to be made out to be a racial thing, even if it wasn't his original intent. He also made that easier by questioning Drake's blackness multiple times across several songs. You also have Rick Ross who jumped to call him a white boy the moment he fell out with him.

Rozay thing is separate but I can see why that's also lumped up with the sentiments on euphoria, but the questioning blackness was a reference to Drake's own lyrics/how he's felt about his identity issues and how it bleeds into how dot says he's moving, but I could be wrong. One interesting example of this is this line from "You and the 6":

I used to get teased for being black, and now I'm here and I'm not black enough

and you did the same with drake and future .Thats the entire reason they colloborated. To mesh audiences and sounds.

    I never brought up future.

You asked if james Blake was trying to immerse itself in street culture and I explained to you why that wasn’t really a smart comment

None of this means he isn't black, which is the point being made. Cole talking like an American and being raised American gives him a pass with black Americans. That's all there is to it. If you're gonna question Drake's blackness then question Cole's blackness too because I thought blackness was determined by one's actual racial make-up, not where or how they were raised?

Does a white man who was raised around black people automatically become black? And does a black person who was raised around white people automatically become white? That's why this whole argument was dumb from the jump.

I get it was an angle to use in the beef but again, folks will call it out more and more as time passes.

You’re talking about Cole talking like an American and I’m talking about Cole being himself and speaking on black issues while Drake himself has been silent on them unless it’s to dig himself out of a hole.

Meek hit Drake with the accusations of ghostwriters and Drake brings up police shootings and s*** in Charged Up as a deflection.

Push pulled Drakes blackface pic and he says it was a commentary on what black American entertainers have to go through.

All I’m saying is with s*** like this I can see why Drake gets flack and Cole doesn’t, even if I don’t personally care.

We are having two completely different convos.

thats called “an out”…Kendrick was trolling.

Kendrick ran with Rick Ross’ white angle. Kendrick was literally saying “how much until you’re black enough”…

Yall defend J Cole as being “black enough” because he’s got dreads and dresses homely.

The hopscotching is amazing to watch in real time.

Okay but it’s a diss record towards Drake not towards mixed people in general. You mad at Kendrick because niggas on twitter who just like to argue in circles co-opted a diss song to add to the never ending race wars on twitter?

I agree with what you're saying as a blanket general statement, 100%.

But Drake code switches at a higher rate than the average person, cause to your point most people code switch. His authenticity was called into question moreso than his blackness

You don't know Drake personally to say this. Drake's been on TV since he was 14. He's been nothing but himself since then. Y'all have been the ones projecting random s*** on to him simply because he also happened to be Canadian and Jewish. Y'all also love to bring up how he was raised by his white mom like J. Cole wasn't also raised by his white mom.

Again, any questions y'all have about Drake's blackness stems from ignorance about what identity really means. Black Americans till this day don't associate being Canadian and/or being Jewish to being black. It's something that's endured longer than Drake has been a thing, I admit, but it still screams ignorance because being either of those things doesn't automatically mean you're not black.

The fact that Cardi B has a more legitimate claim to blackness than Drake does with black Americans tells you all you need to know.

Eh those collabs aren’t always mutually beneficial. For every Lil Baby there’s an ILoveMakonnen and Blocboy JB situation.

And then you got to hear fanbases that think this nigga discovered or put them on when they already had motion going on lol
