You're comparing a song that dropped 7 years ago to a song that dropped 2 months ago? Y'all gotta let common sense prevail every once in a while. NLU has charted better, has gained more streams and has sold way more units in 2 months than Humble did.

Why didn’t the Drake stimulus work on his own songs during the beef?

Stop trying to discredit Kendrick just bc he turned your fav into a joke 😭

Majority of Drake fans don't care about his beefs, that's why he has countless hit records that AREN'T diss songs.

I'm not saying anything that's untrue. Everything Kendrick dropped after DAMN and even after MMATBS flopped on the charts. It wasn't until he went at Drake that he got a legit hit again because y'all didn't give a f*** about that he had to say till it involved Drake. That's a fact. It's also a fact that NLU is well on its way to being his biggest hit record. It'll definitely end its run as it's biggest chart hit but it'll be some time before it accumulates more streams and moves more units than HUMBLE.

That wasn't a solo album and I'm speaking more about singles.

I'm not suggesting Drake is entirely the reason for NLU's success but to act like he doesn't have anything to do with how big that song got is being disingenuous. It's also not inaccurate to say the song is/will eventually be Kendrick's biggest song. No other Kendrick song has broken as many records or set as many streaming milestones.

They love moving the goal post. Kendrick has had one album cycle after DAMN. With that cycle he broke the record for touring.

Stop pretending like every album cycle has to have this major hit record or impact on the charts.

TPAB had zero hits that affected the charts. Alright became a hit because of the protest. All of its hits were organic.

This literally falls in line with Kendrick’s process.

    One album filled with hits
One album that’s more centered topically and less accessible

    Rinse repeat.

Also Black Panther had a song that won Grammy. All The Stars will be diamond in like 4 years lol. It also had the Travis record and The Weeknd record.

That album alone had line 4 legit hits and 2 more mini hits.

It’s his third biggest record ever and in its way to becoming a diamond single.

They did an entire next Tour off the success of that album.

That album was huge. As I said she is acting like Kendrick had multiple albums after Damn. He had one and it was a personal album that wasn’t trying to have a bunch of hits.

Again, I'm speaking of SINGLES, not albums. MMATBS had 3 singles, all of which were radio-friendly enough but they didn't catch on to become even moderate hits. Even his collabs with Baby Keem that tend to do some damage didn't do anything when The Hillbillies dropped. He then hopped on a remix of a Beyoncè song that also didn't do s***.

My point is that nothing really took off from at least the MMATBS era till Like That. Nothing he dropped was sticking or even having any sort of cultural impact. He needed to diss Drake to get that clout back and that's a fact.

Of course, that doesn't take anything away from him as an artist. He doesn't need Drake to sell out tours or score big album debuts. All I'm saying is that s*** was mad dry for Kendrick in terms of any of his songs catching on till Like That. If you wanna go back to a Kendrick hit prior to this beef, you'll have to go back to 2018. That says a lot.

Drake should get credit for Not Like Us?

Disses directed at Drake that didn’t go number one

    1. Common - Sweet
    2. Meek Mill - Wanna Know & War Pain
    3. Pusha T - Story of Adidon
    4. Kendrick Lamar - Euphoria, Meet The Grahams, 6:16 in LA
    5. Rick Ross - Champagne Moments

Drake disses that didn’t go number one

    Charged Up
    Back to Back
    Duppy Freestyle
    Push Ups
    Family Matters
    The Heart Part 6
    Stay Scheming
    Taylor Made

Disses directed at Drake that went number one

Kendrick Lamar - Not Like Us

I’m not seeing this diss stimulus that Drake has on Kendrick.

Family Ties was a big hit and was obviously the start of the Mr. Morale rollout. Just because none of the Morale songs became hits, doesn't invalidate Kendricks ability to make hit songs. Its just one album cycle.

Baby Keem and him have four songs together. How can you assume that its automatically going to do damage when they do a song? Family Ties is a hit ofc but then you have Range Brothers which is an album cut, Savior and then you have Hillbillies next.

You are making a big statement on Kendrick's success but you don't have enough evidence for that. Because he only dropped Hillibillies inbetween Morale and Like That. Thats one song.

What a disingenuous take. Many of these disses weren't even on DSPs or were by artists who don't even have a top 10 hit to their names without Drake.

Again, no one is saying Kendrick needs Drake to score a hit but acting like him going at Drake didn't contribute to how big Like That and Not Like Us became is being mad disingenuous. The last time Kendrick has even had this much interest around his name for several weeks was the DAMN/Black Panther era lol.
