For sure, they’re definitely a sub genre in his filmography. I think Kill Bill is the best of that crop. The rest are enjoyable to me as well but don’t have the same affect on me as Kill Bill. I love the final sit down between Bill and The Bride.

I didn't quite dislike it as much as you did, and actually thought the scene you described was effective. When it comes to deplorable characters, I have a good tolerance (Succession is one of my favorite shows) but they have to be interesting characters. I thought that the characters in Hateful Eight for the most part met that criteria. It's just Daisy who I thought was severely underdeveloped

Yeah. The whole movie is a love letter to that era of Hollywood & LA, and Margot as Sharon Tate is the perfect symbol of that.

Protecting Sharon by killing her would be killers is just QT wishing he could preserve that time period that was so near and dear to him.

That's why the violence never really bothered me

And in the end QT amps up her nastiness to get the crowd behind Daisy getting hanged but it's like, you haven't put in work to develop her in any meaningful way

Considering we now know this beef was brewing for the past decade on both sides, you’d think drake would have bars prepared specifically for Kendrick but it seemed to be the usual attack the family, say some short jokes, the only specific attack seemed to be the domestic violence accusations, is that really the only shot he had tucked away for 10 years tho? Drake must’ve knew Kendrick would come at his blackness like Pusha did and any rapper would, so at least reference the white girl Kendrick brought on stage, that would have been more calculated than what he done which honestly seemed very reactive and emotional

Funny, a lot of harsher QT critics I follow said that this dream of a 60s that never ended was reactionary. But im with you tho, I think it was more of just him playing with an artistic time period he’s fond of, and not trying to say anything too deep or culturally critical.

I believe the contrary tbh, I believe he thought he levelled up on the bars on Her Loss and FATD when really he was nowhere near a Kendrick Lamar level anyway
