Kill Bill is my favorite personally. I like Pulp Fiction but nothing beats a good ol Japanese inspired revenge story

I can see why Reservoir Dogs and Death Proof cause I don't rate Reservoir Dogs highly and Death Proof is intentionally bad

Once Upon A Time is definitely worth a watch. If you want to watch a Tarantino western, watch Django over H8 for sure

I'm watching H8 rn and this is easily his weakest movie to me

Yeah Kill Bill is fun, and I also enjoyed David Carradine's performance, he was great in his limited screentime

The Hateful Eight

Hateful Eight and OUATIH are interchangeable honestly, and H8 is up rn because of recency bias, but it felt fresh and I was engaged for most of the runtime. Oh and the score was beautiful I actually dug OUATIH until the final act. Granted, the tension ramps up, and there's enough setup for the payoff, but at the same time, it just felt like an instance where QT just couldn't help himself but sprinkle in some bloody violence. Was digging the restraint up until then.

Django was entertaining and well made. It's a film that ties into some of my problems with QT films as of late. Brace yourself for another hot take:

I got Pulp and Jackie Brown at the top. I am a sucker for that time period of LA.

Jackie Brown in particular…the Del Amo Mall. That’s pretty much 10 min from where I grew up.

Or Mr. Wolf “it’s 30 minutes away. I’ll be there in 10.” Him and PTA, I enjoy their LA movies.

Feel like post Kill Bill, the movies follow a very similar theme and format of a wronged person getting bloody revenge. But I enjoy Kill Bill a lot.

Characters going through the mud until they finally resolve it

OUATIH wasn't about the restraint in my opinion and the bloody violence is kind of the point lowkey. Historians usually point to the Manson murders as the ending of the peace love and happiness era and the move towards the cynicism and depressing era that was the 70s, so in a f***ed up way this alternative telling is a fairy tale: it's even in the title.

It's like hey "what if that golden age of LA never had to end as f***ed up as it did and those psychopaths that murdered Sharon Tate and her unborn baby had gotten their comeuppance"

That was disturbing. I wasn't a fan of that, but my biggest problem with her character is that she's not a character...at all. She's the briefcase in pulp fiction except she says the n word. By the third act, it's ridiculous we only know that her brother was waiting for her, but we get nothing about her character. S***, even the female characters in the flashback are just done off for shock value, which yes, it was effective, but it was hollow.

Daisy at the end is just the woman that they get to hang and revel in her death, which is something that QT reserves for the worst of the worst (see Basterds ending) but that's just it: his stories are vibes and good dialogue with some tension but sometimes, it sacrifices real character depth.

it's not even just that it's just how f***ing deplorable that whole cast is. Like.. yeah I get it that's the point but goddamn nigga LMAOOOOOOO

The most disturbing scene for me was Samuel Jackson walking that man thru the snow. I never enjoyed that movie after that. The same way you said Tarantino films have no heart, once I saw that scene I realized this was basically an evil film by him just for the sake of being evil. No style or relatability at all
