I’ll give Family Matters its flowers man, Drake put up a good fight and rapped like he hasn’t in years.

But not only does Drake not believe Kendrick beat Whitney, you can hear it in his voice that even if he did HE WOULD NOT GIVE A F*** ABOUT THAT WOMAN’S WELLBEING

Shake that ass for free, supposed abuse victim

Drake stans trying this new angle where they’re saying “nobody won”

The whole world is calling yo daddy a pedophile with a smile🤣

Yachty was a traitor for saying that but now that's the new stan save face narrative lol

Nothing changed after this battle to me. Dot and Drake been GOATs in my eyes.

What it put in perspective is that a big part of the people tolerated Drake but never embraced him.

Second thing I learned is that people only see you how they met you. And if you stay true to that you always have the benefit of the doubt. Which both Ye and Drake changed a lot over the years which lead to a rift between them and "culture".

To me it showed that niggas really counted out kendrick, as a lifelong fan, I ain't never been outside that bubble but a lot of people using this battle as some final decider of his greatness, I don't get it and I hope i will

The “win” just wasn’t decisive enough to really call it

Shock value plus having all the good will with the online fans skewed things but the dust continues to settle

it was a better time when whoever called the other gay in the most creative way was the winner

"On his first album cover Dre was a she thing" album cover pops up

  • I wonder how Cole moves now cause he was just starting to copy that annoying sub talk from drake, he either gone have to stop talking tuff or talk clearly, no subs no big stepper talk gun talk, if anything it's a win for him now I'm excited as a listener. A win for all in fact, but kendrick won

Even as legendary as Ether was, part of it was shock value and jay z hate and over time it became seen as a more even battle

And this battle is actually even more close than that one was

Kendrick had good timing and shock tactics drake had the bars

Not really. If anything, it pays homage to Kendrick being a protege of Eminem and Interscope legends. Also a mix of Andre 3000-like storytelling (ie Life of the Party, Art of Storytelling).

Saying it’s biting Pusha T is a little too reductionist - the songs that MTG sounds like are wayyyyy older than 2018.

I keep seeing "who's here after kendrick's not like us" under completely unrelated songs lmao

Fair enough, Kendrick is always influenced by em and Andre

But for that song it felt to me like he was also trying to channel Pusha and Adidon

    its true

conceptually it wasnt really pusha like but the "dear daughter" part is legit a s*** rip off of Story of Adidon
