People don’t really use undermine like that. It almost felt like he was using the word wrong to me and really meant like “condone” or something but who knows what he was trying to say tbh

It’s weird to say someone is behaving badly and then tell their mother NOT to undermine that behavior; without the context you added

But honestly good post and thought it’s possible

You’re conflating the word “undermine” with “downplay” and they’re not the same at all. Maybe that is what kendrick meant but it doesn’t land

In the context of behavior

If I undermine someone’s behavior then I’m making them less effective at doing what they’re doing or stopping them from doing something

It sounds like kendrick is saying NOT to lessen the effectiveness of alleged behavior. Or to let it keep happening and not undermine it in any way

If you can find me an example of someone using “undermine” that way I’ll take the L but I never heard it
