Damn had the biggest hits of his career, much like Hov had with BP3. For an album that came out in streaming era and the fact it takes Kendrick years to release new music, it’s not all that impressive because people don’t have much to chose from anyways.

I’m talking about choosing after 2017 regarding Kendrick and his music. It’s a lot easier to have a streaming album chart for years when there is no other music from him until now. And people not really feeling the new album anyways. I’m not necessarily knocking it but using streaming numbers in that to define it as a classic is inaccurate. It’s a rap mainstream album that sold well, mostly carried by the hits. It’s good but not a classic. Similar to BP3.

Untitled Unmastered had just came out a year before DAMN, with TPAB still being “fresh” in a LOT of people’s ears. Not to mention the Black Panther soundtrack coming out afterwards. There was plenty of music.

If you do take streaming numbers out the equation then cool, you’re left with a Pulitzer Prize, multiple Grammys, and widespread critical acclaim. Sounds like a classic, to me.

EDIT: besides, it’s unfair as hell for trying to discredit Kendrick doing well in the game/era he’s in, I for one hate streaming numbers as well but the game is the game. S*** changed.

The streams are just a cool addition tbh I could care less. You take streams out the equation for the Biracial Canadian and he doesn’t have anything to build his case.

Morale has N95, Mother I Sober, Count Me Out, Savior, Mirror, Mr Morale, Rich Spirit, and Silent Hill.

Count Me Out, Mother and Mirror might be top 10 in his catalog imo and N95 is probably a top 5 single he’s ever put out.
