Absolutely, I was thinking the same – 2026 Kendrick has a markedly different cultural cache than 2022
Seems clear from the leaked iCloud material that around the Mr. Morale period, he had a huge desire to create something that was A) simultaneously musical & cinematic that B) functioned as biting social commentary with C) a ton of shock value. Those ideas kinda sucked, and that envelope-pushing kink seems almost fully worked out by now. So I imagine there could be some buyers remorse about having woven himself into the film so tightly beyond just producing

I’m not counting Kendrick out (though apparently he loves that 🤭) but I do doubt the ability of Parker & Stone to make a non-animated movie after 20 years. Hard to give this your full attention when South Park is reaching another peak of popularity
