To your point about GNX not being a conceptual album

The Luciferian/reincarnation concept is actually littered throughout the album just very, very subtly outside of reincarnated and man in the garden

The intro tracks hook plays into it as well. although, it went over most people’s heads

“Yesterday somebody wacced out my morals”

    BRING BACK REGIONS

    Seriously. 2000s was insane

East you had Hov, Nas, Dipset, G Unit, Wu Tang was still around, D-Block, and more

West - Snoop, Dre, and more holding it down

Midwest - Common, Lupe, Ye, Em, Twista, Bone Thugs and them. Nelly too.

The south is obvious with T.I., Luda, Wayne, Mike Jones, Paul Wall, UGK, and more

Get off on this, just came to my mind

The Lucifer arc is interesting but with reincarnated I wonder if it’s tongue in cheek based on the context of the song since someone else literally reincarnated themselves as that artist, i.e. playing God which is what someone saying they are rewriting the devil story would be doing as this is a direct contradiction to God’s message

I mean I think that is also part of what annoys me. Kendrick has more creative freedom than most rappers entire careers so a lot of the "why cant they be more like Kendrick" is often hampered by a record exec, label, budget and so many other factors. Even if their mixtapes, loosies, interviews are one way they have to drop what they got to drop to move units and make money

the amount of cancelled albums, projects, songs and so much more because a white record exec is like "fuck all that I am trying to make money say nigga s***" only for Kendrick to turn around and say "watch the party die"

when often them entertaining the party is possibly what frees their family from poverty . Dolph, Takeoff, Pop Smoke, Future , FBG Duck, Von , Chief keef and many more. Like even if it took me a little on the drill artist . The idea that everyone should aspire to be kendrick lamar is the same as my least favorite article in chicago

    https://www.chicagotribune.com/2017/07/03/chance-reminds-us-black-boys-are-worth-fighting-for/

"There is little, if anything, we can do about family situations that are imperfect. But that doesn’t mean we should give up on the kids whose parents are less than ideal.

Chance represents so many young men in Chicago who are nearly bursting at the seams with fresh ideas and the smarts to make them happen. All they need is an opportunity.

If we look closely, we can see Chance in the faces of the bucket boys sitting on the 87th Street exit ramp off the Dan Ryan Expressway, creating beautiful drumbeats on white buckets held between their knees.

We can see Chance in the street dancers who travel from disadvantaged neighborhoods to earn money performing on Michigan Avenue.

There are young Chance the Rappers all over Chicago. They could soar too, if only they had the chance."

I know chances people but I detest this article

cause its like let each human be a human being they do the same with kendrick

"Kendrick reminds us black men are worthwhile" feels like an article a craquer would love to type

I think it wouldnt be as lopsided if the masses wasn't programmed to reject and not listen to those other artists you named.

artists like the chances and kendricks get those hyperbolic statements because it literally is seen as a breath of fresh air compared to say a typical 90s radio as my dad would commonly say, "you could listen to poor righteous teachers, 2 live crew (my dad is jacksonville born and bred), x-clan, public enemy all in the same hour" because it was such thing as a balance.

The problem is it didn’t just become the poppin sound in hip hop

It became the poppin sound for the whole world. That’s why pop and country songs got f***ing trap drums

I feel like an old head but I’m genuinely so sick of generic trap drums id be good if I never heard them again

for some people a music artist is a religion that they dont invest time dissecting the bars, buying the music or learning from the words

so its really like are you just listening to say something is the best?

If I asked folks right now what does Reincarnated mean to him and how it gets him through his day to day he just going to say "its the best" on some toad s***

which scares me because I like discussion not just "___ is the best greatest of all time big 3 big 1 omg look at the streaming numbers yeah he slaughtering the competition"

like Euphoria was fun cause I remember the "oh s*** park his son" the takeoff reference moment and s*** like that a detective mission with friends

they just be like "goat can we start having the goat discussion is it time to discuss greatest of all time isnt this great isnt this the best song you have ever heard. Hey man isnt this like christ came back omg this s*** is so good the game couldnt survive without him. Rap is back. when he leaves its over. Omg he just killed their favorite rapper he dead"

when its like that s*** fun and all for a milli second but thats why I call it a mandingo competition and stand on it when they so deflated they genuinely cant articulate what a song means to their day to day or year

If he posted his replay I would bet good money he has barely listened to reicarnated

most people dont care about music like that - well, moreso how they articulate it

doesnt mean its a bad thing tho lol - and its kinda wild how the convo flipped from mmbs "no one likes this nigga" to now "everyone just d rides him no matter what" as if the mmbs "discourse" didnt happen

that s*** is just as dumb

I mean I hate hyperbole in all of art from "why cant this game be more like the last of us " to "twin peaks is the origin of tv" to "this isnt mcu " all of the monolithic view of art often leads people to refusing to watch something that could be their favorite piece of art

as an art student and artist for life I am just like f*** it enjoy a bit of everything. I watched Wicked and that s*** fire

there are some who like "musical yeah out"

its like why limit yourself from possibly finding s*** that changes your life, inspires you to create dope art or helps you wriite

S*** I love Adele sometimes i would be playing Adele when doing uber lyft and they would be like "I wouldnt take you for an adele fan"

its like when you limit yourself and create limits on others you do a disservice to yourself and us all
