Kendrick sounds very energized on GNX, so people describing the album as uninspired doesn't sit right with me. He definitely gives a s*** and is rapping at a high level. He just isn't trying to innovate this time around.

Even if GNX is his worst album, and it might be if you start with S80, the totality of his year shows that he's hitting yet another peak as a rapper. And considering the criticism he received after Morale for not RAPPING rapping like he used to, 2024 has been a masterful response.

He sounds way more inspired on here than Damn and Mr morale

Yea Drake’s rap songs play to east coast biases a lot better plus he cozies up to a lot of our legends out here

If someone was looking for something more introspective and conscious, Morale is right there.

People just expect his career arc to continue a certain way and he's spitting in the face of that like all great artists do. He's also being rewarded for it, which is dope.

I wouldn’t even say he sounds way more inspired…I think alot of DAMN and Morale took a backseat to slower, more thoughtful concepts and a melodic approach. He still rapped his ass off when he wanted to on both albums. Like DNA from DAMN and Savior on Mr. Morale.

Yea, but as a negative they also can’t let that eras aesthetics go either.

Which is funny because the rapping on Morale was great save for like a couple tracks

Worldwide Steppers from a technical perspective was SO impressive. Same with Father Time from a storytelling perspective. Some of his best writing ever.
