FlyHiiiOh yeah I absolutely agree with you, it’s just that in hindsight Blueprint feels like that real crossover album in the sense that it is what both music heads of all genres and the general public thinks of when they think of Hov. I never realized Vol 2 sold so well, and I’m kinda shocked at my lack of knowledge on that fact as someone who prides himself on usually knowing my hiphop history
And Hov is a legend ofc, but i think it stems from the fact that I got into his music much later. I never really clicked with Hov the same way I could for a lot of his peers that people consider the upper echelon of rappers. But that made me miss out on a lot of stuff surrounding him, especially in real time as they happened

Nah I appreciate you for checking me actually. I care abt the culture and my opinion was never meant to put down it’s impact, just expressing how i experienced Vol 2. His discog has always been hit/miss for me tho. And I have more than a little bit of a Nas bias since that’s probably the #1 MC of all time for me
