Bro these Post projections are better than 99% of the field
People don’t know what the word flop means
They are. Yep you know how many artists would love to do 100k lol.
Everything an artist drops isn’t gonna be a massive smash of an album. Even prime Prince had albums that didn’t resonate like his main classics did.
I feel like the way music discourse is starting to trend you’re gonna get less artists going out and taking risks.
That’s why I respect Carti cause he easily could’ve dropped the version of WLR that had the Trav, Drake, Post, Pharrell, etc features. But he took that risk
Dawn FM still album of the year
Do you think it’s better then after hours? All memes aside after hours really my favorite weeknd album it has them top tier tracks for me
Scared to live
Faith
Hardest to love
Showchild
Save your tears
etc.

99% of the field doesn’t have the budget or brand Post has.
I said it before and I'll say it again, the 223k that Drake did with DLDT as a surprise mixtape of leaks/demos that y'all clowned will HUMBLE. a lot of y'all and y'all's faves as more time passes and y'all see just how hard it is to hit those numbers in the current music climate. Just wait.
So far this decade, the only hip-hop albums that have debuted with bigger numbers are:
Drake — Certified Lover Boy: 613k
Juice WRLD — Legends Never Die: 497k (bundles)
Kanye West — Donda: 309k
Kendrick Lamar — Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers: 295.5k
Lil Uzi Vert — Eternal Atake: 288k
J. Cole — The Off-Season: 282k
Eminem — Music to Be Murdered By: 279k (bundles)
Pop Smoke — Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon: 251k (bundles)
shouldnt even be comparing albums to mixtapes
but the tape still competes

I don’t think it blows After Hours out of the water like some people do. I used to think it was better than After Hours but over time I just can’t pick anymore. They’re like neck and neck for me at this point.
The fact that Drake sold over 500k fw 6 times really sets him in the top top tier with the other two goats (Swift, Adele) of this generation.
Everyone else is a tier below, no debate.
*7 times (TC/NWTS/IYRTITL/Views/More Life/Scorpion/CLB) and TML almost did it too 447k.
wasn't this the same with the Future album though? that did almost double this Post Malone album
Future literally had buzz lmao
Posts previous albums had buzzy or at least growingly buzzy singles, literally had no idea this was even dropping until like last week. Flop totally expected.
they dropped singles and tried to push the album back to create buzz. none of the singles really caught a crazy buzz compared to his previous singles

Respect bro
after hours for me was a moment and it already has the nostalgia feeling from it dropping when the pandemic started it’s my favorite album from him I still be bumping it daily scared to live my fav from the album
Don't think this has been pointed out but Meek's 95k first week last year is starting to look damn good next to these numbers from Post, Harlow, etc.
Post went Pop, and with that there are consequences you also gotta play with the Pop rules sale wise (huge importance of singles and physicals) . He wasnt able to do it and flopped
99% of the field doesn’t have the budget or brand Post has.
He didn’t have that with this album clearly and even if they did they probably still wouldn’t do as good
Horrible numbers holy hell
Tis really a combo of him not giving af + the label kinda screwing him over

They were just good and still are just good , I think people care too much about the 100k o/u thing though
Future FW sales really so crazy to me
I legit never thought he would do numbers like that again after High Off Life

People called it a flop and I thought it was too because it was less than half of Championships, but dudes are doing less than a third of their last albums this year, even with hit singles. Meek's fanbase is holding up well

Flop - (of a performer or show) be completely unsuccessful; fail totally.
That’s exactly what’s happening
The fact that the focus is gonna be on him flopping and not the fact the label isn’t letting him drop the music that he’s actually passionate about is worrying
