A couple of billboards isn't a real promo run. He just dropped the album and dipped. Same as Kendrick just done, which his stans use as an argument to defend him
Didn’t drake drop trailers, promotional singles and all that? Drake had a two year lead up for his album.
Kenny dropped news a couple weeks before the album and then dropped the track list, artwork and promo single days before the drop lol.
let it go bro, this isn't 24 hours ago
it's BIG STEPPER season now
Thread vibes right now

Lowkey I don’t think there was too much promo besides posting the cover the day of and stuff, love drake but he seemed really lazy in regards to clb promo and touring
I never got the vibe that Drake was especially proud of CLB. It kept getting delayed over and over, no real promo, no big tour, it was just kind of a thing that happened
Eminem doesn't promote his releases anymore, so his numbers are weak these days.
It would be interesting if he went back to creating hype before and after his releases.
He tried with Revival but the album was pure ass juice
Kamikaze and MMTBB weren’t great by any means but far better than Revival lol
Feel like he should take his time, get some solid producers and collaborators, rap normal, and go back to the TES era sound and flow (still his most streamed album). Market it as his final album and retire

Yup and sad thing is I loved it. It really felt and feels like his fans liked it a lot more than him
Cole gets so much hate on this site man when I enjoyed off season too it’s his best work imo

Don’t forget espn
Pretty sure it was a surprise surprise drop like it wasn’t even announced that day and maybe just had a post on ig as soon as it dropped
Yeah, he's been doing that since Kamikaze. I personally miss singles, interviews and performances to promote his albums. He just drops and disappears, which obviously hurts his first week sales, cause he still sells good in the long run.
His music is good for any occasion. He got such a diverse discography that he covers every single mood.
MFer talked about the album for over a year and had a heart shaved in his head forever talking about it. People were hyping his album before he even dropped DLDT. Dude was everywhere and stayed all over the scene with features and appearances. Kendrick was in a cave and then came out two weeks before.
FOH you dumbass.
Drake has a whole ass Donda vs. CLB narrative going. That was promo enough

He dropped a video saying his new album would drop in JANUARY 2021 lol. He didn't drop the album so in order to apologize and give his fans something to stream while he finished the album he released 3 songs a month later or two. But CLB dropped in SEPTEMBER. He just had a random ad and the announcement on IG. In the end the promo run wasn't much different than Kendrick's.

nothing happens after I click
There was expectation for CLB but tbh it kind of happened, like he announced it outta nowhere

Literally.

Yeah, but just cause Revival was bad he can't do surprise releases for life lol he needs to grow some balls again and pick a good single not something depressing like he did with Walk On Water and promote the album before it drops.

I agree. If he marketed it as a final album I think it could be pretty huge too

he got it into his head that the only reason revival is seen as bad is because the hype and perception people had going in
