  • Same niggas in here now saying the first week doesn’t matter anymore and albums should be #1 for numerous weeks are the same people who said last year that $$$4U was more successful than MUSIC, even though MUSIC spent three weeks at #1 compared to $$$4U’s one

Rocky did 14 million on US Spotfy. YB might have more streaming units.

    For songs, not albums

The majority of #1 albums are only #1 for one week

Lots of songs are only #1 for 1 week

  • quadra

Lots of songs are only #1 for 1 week

    Incorrect.

There were 10 number-one songs in 2025. Only 4 of them spent a single week at the top spot. So out of 52 weeks, that’s 41 weeks where a song was at #1 longer than one week.

For albums, there were 23 number-one albums. 18 of them only spent a single week at the top spot. So out of 52 weeks, that’s 28 weeks where an album was at #1 longer than one week.

80% of the year songs were repeating at #1 vs. 54% of the year albums were repeating at #1

They make free streams count more and Drake albums start recharting 🤖

He's charting more because of paid streams counting more.

Her Loss is #89 on US Apple Music, and N/A on US Spotify.

Nobody said that, but the nigga clearly uses bots, it’s obvious after the rule change

You failing to understand anything as usual.

He was inevitably going to chart better because the rule change made streaming in general stronger (free AND paid had their ratios changed favorably).

Drake's units are usually 99% streaming and <1% pure sales, so obviously weighing streaming higher (which then makes pure sales weigh less) would then benefit him overwhelmingly compared to other artists who are better pure sellers and rely on sales to makeup weaker streaming.

He is doing comparatively better on paid streaming services than free streaming, which debunks the myth he needs botting.

Ain't yall the same ppl that say 1 week #1's don't matter?
This the same line of thinking lmao

First-week numbers have never been the end all be all, especially in the streaming era. I don't know what these clowns are on about lmao.

Talking like we haven't seen albums released in the streaming era that flopped upon release and went on to be massive successes and albums that did the opposite. The only true way to know if an album era was successful is to see how well the album is performing weeks and months after its release.

Not to mention that 17 non-Drake albums re-entered the Billboard 200 last week following the rule change.

Also, doesn't Billboard doesn't filter out suspicious streams/sales before publishing their charts every week?

The determination and insistence that Drake's numbers are somehow bogus despite him putting up consistent numbers for almost 2 decades now shows how much his success irks these clowns

If billboard filters suspicious streams why were you so sure Kendrick was using bots if they never got filtered?

The ironic part is being so sure Drake benefits from free streams yet he pulls the lowest percentage of free streams amongst big names...

First week streams for Rap releases:
    $$$4U - 93% paid, 7% free
    Am I The Drama - 92% paid, 8% free
    GNX - 91% paid, 9% free
    Don't Tap The Glass - 89% paid, 11% free
    Music - 88% paid, 12% free

No like literally they just made free streams count more and a week later Drake albums started recharting.

Paid too, but they increased the weight of free streams more.

They increased the weight of free streams very very slightly more than they increased the weight of paid streams.

His paid streaming units increased more than his free streaming units, because his streaming is overwhelmingly paid.

because his streaming is overwhelmingly paid.

This applies to practically every artist, no?

Yes, and as I already pointed out he still proportionately gets some of the lowest free streaming lol.

These are relative to how many streams the album did. $$$4U had 20m free streams while the Tyler album had 10m. If my math is right.

Right, because an album that is MUCH more popular on streaming in general would obviously have higher raw streams paid and free.

Using your logic, if an D-list artist bots 1 million free streams first week and Taylor does 20 million free streams first week then Taylor is using more bots simply for being more popular.
