A soundtrack from a whole other medium dominating an entire chart during an ongoing drought is not a good sign for music lol

A film soundtrack being popular on the Hot 100 is not a new phenomenon whatsoever though

    “During an ongoing drought”

Still don’t think it means much though. Even if the charts were strong, that album would still be doing good

Don't know how many of you on here are NBA fans but imagine if the NBA still had to rely on only KD, LeBron and Steph for excitement?

Tell us you don’t watch ball without telling us you don’t watch ball.

This is exactly what people have been complaining about with the NBA for the past few seasons before this year

This is like the first season in years where the league has made a concerted effort to market the newer stars

Yup. Same teams in the finals, with the same superstars, and the West always having a bulk of the talent.

“Hey I wanna make a song like Aretha”

“Hm…I wanna do it a bit darker but pull from that same era”

“What melody can I adapt for the hook where I can still sing it like Aretha?”

Guess the song. I’m tryna see sum

would you not attribute conservatism as to why a label would rather spend money building a country act than rappers

It's adorable that you think record labels and record label execs are anything other than money-grubbing animals who only care about lining their pockets lol.

If the money is in conservatism nowadays then what do you think that means for record labels? The Right Wing Grift is alive and real

I don't know why you keep posting s*** like this. Drake isn't the King of rap anymore. It's not on him to help or carry the genre anymore. That's on Kendrick. Stop expecting Drake to carry the same genre that spent the last 18 months trying to kick him out.

If you wanna see rap flourish again on the charts, tell Kendrick to drop again and give us some more hits.

    exactly.

Niggas talking like Drake is supposed to STILL be carrying the game. He's done more than enough. The rap game wanted him out and they got what they wanted.

It's Kendrick's time now to run things.

Drake never carried rap. No one rapper has ever carried rap. You don’t actually like hip hop if you think like this

    Dot era 🏆

They were reminding it us it was his era for months and months and now it has turned to "but didn't Drake drop some songs, why aren't they charting?"

Nah, b. You don't get to do that anymore.

Fine, I agree. Then stop bringing Drake up or suggesting he has some role to play in keeping mainstream rap relevant. That's not his concern anymore.
