Maybe it’s time to stop chasing hits and drop some classic music and it might resonate with the audience more
This entire post is stupid because most of Drake's hits are rap songs.
Even you can't be this obtuse surely

The time is over to force hits anyways lol just drop your project and be lucky if it hits the TikTok audience
That DtMF was a hit isn't even debatable tbh. Manchild did well but isn't coming close to Espresso but she will have her hits with her new album and with the feature on Taylor Swifts album
Bad Bunny’s album smashed globally and was basically doing his 2022 numbers again, however in US it kinda tapered off after the first few weeks.
Manchild, Daisies, etc are hits with some staying power but they’re still doing low ass points compared to their previous hits from prior years
drake da bes

Yeah, because he dropped it in January. I'm pretty sure it would've been bigger in the US if he dropped it at the same time as UVST in 2022. He doesn't care anyways about our s***hole so he's fine
From a totally neutral standpoint here
If I was actually concerned about the charts from drakes perspective
I'd be worried about sabrina dropping just before September... and then the obvious bombshell dropping in October. There's a short window of time at the end of September where something could perhaps jump into the charts at a high point but after that it's probably toast till Christmas

I doubt he's dropping this year lol
I doubt he's dropping this year lol
I would personally be surprised, because I genuinely think the hype could his a peak in a couple of weeks with the right single, there's no point in dragging this rollout
Especially if there's a chance you could lose the case... best to get the album out early in case
drake can honestly drop whenever this year he just needs to make it like all artsy and we'll be able to deflect as a fanbase that charts dont matter and its about the substance in his work

It feels like he didn't know that Taylor is dropping this soon and now he will just move on and wait until next year
Sabrina is also dropping soon so I don't see it happening

Even Morgan Wallen hits this Summer are doing weak for his standard.
Last Night was #1 for 16 weeks in Summer 2023
I Had Some Help was #1, had record breaking streams, was doing 700 points in Summer 2024
He got a few songs charting high this Summer but none are dominating or pulling huge numbers.
Objectively the ecosystem has changed this year it really isn’t arguable lmao

It doesn't matter honestly, and I guarantee that every kendrick Stan here would actually want to hear a concise drake album with a decent amount of substance and effort
Charts literally don't matter to the music, but I sadly think drake sees the charts as a metric on the quality of music, which is why we get songs like 'which one' when he's 100% better off dropping 'energy' type songs back to back at the moment
Like, what legacy are you creating right now, is it just for numbers or do you really have something to say like you claim
OK, but historically, just putting this out there to save an argument later
Kendrick's numbers have never been affected by these purges
Spotify doesn't disclose specifics of the purges
Even you can't be this obtuse surely
Name these many pop Drake hits you speak of.

Come on man
Don't even pretend you don't know what I'm on about you just look like a tool
Name these many pop Drake hits you speak of.
Of his top 5 most streamed songs on Spotify only number 2 "gods plan" could be considered rap
Other than:
One dance
Work
Hotline Bling
Passionfruit
In my feelings
If you don't think those are pop songs, then you are definitely being obtuse
Are all undeniable attempts at hits and quality wise not anything “bad” to their fan demographic
Even if I didn’t necessarily personally like their releases:
Etc, etc have released entire albums and there is at least 1 single that clearly is designed to be a hit and is easily digestible and not badly received for their own standards.
There has quite literally been tons of new music releases in 2025 that were clearly a standard attempt at a hit with quality that wasn’t worse than the artist’s general standards.
This entire post is stupid because most of Drake's hits are rap songs.
13/25 songs he made billion streams on Spotify are pop songs??
One Dance
Passionfruit
Work
Hotline Bling
In My Feelings
MIA
Nice For What
No Guidance
Hold, On We're Going Home
Toosie Slide
Too Good
WAIT FOR U
Fake Love
drake pop hits = he sounds good while hes rapping
Pop rap is a thing that exists btw
